MEET STEPHANIE: THE HELPING HAND!

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT STEPHANIE

Stephanie began her career back in 2015 through one of FDG’s many internship opportunities where she experienced the ins, outs, and everyday life of an awarded architecture and interior design firm.

After graduating from the University of North Texas in 2016, Stephanie was brought on board as a full-time interior designer, toting with her an abundance of positivity, a new and varying perspective of design trends, and a genuine adoration for helping wherever she was needed.

Stephanie was quickly given the name the “Helping Hand.”

HOMETOWN

Ennis, TX

Growing up in small-town Ennis, Stephanie immersed herself in nature, with Lake Bardwell and boundless fields of Bluebonnets, which spurred a love for hiking and the great outdoors.

BEHIND HER DESIGNS

The world of design holds endless possibilities for Stephanie who draws her inspiration from experience and her surrounding environments.

Her keen eye and intuition allow her to successfully create unique and tasteful atmospheres every time, each tailored to her clients’ wants and desires to make their vision come to fruition.

PART OF THE JOB

Installing

Designing Environments that Transform Life™ can take years of creation, time, and effort. For Stephanie, seeing the project finally come to life with each strategically placed piece of furniture or the decorative artwork hung on the wall is worth every minute of work.

Focusing on the little details that can establish the whole mood of the space means everything to Stephanie.

PROJECT

Shelbourne at Mount Pleasant

Though Stephanie has worked on a wide range of incredible projects during her time at FDG, Shelbourne at Mount Pleasant holds a special place in her heart. Working on this project from the very beginning, Stephanie has taken the lead on concepts, space planning, finishes, and design.

She has dubbed this new senior living community as her “baby.”

MOVIE GENRE

TV SHOW

“The Office”

“The Office” is a show adored by many who love dry humor, great characters, and even better character development. Stephanie has watched the series at least eight times, identifying with lovable and loyal Jim Halpert (portrayed by the amazing John Krasinski).

Horror

For those new to the Horror genre, Stephanie recommends watching “The Strangers” (2008). It’s one of the few horror movies you can watch on repeat without the scare factor waning.

MUSIC GENRE

Electronic Dance Music

EDM, or electric dance music, is energized and fast-paced with upbeat melodies that gets you dancing. Stephanie recommends Alison Wonderland, Flume, Excision, or Buku.

HOBBY

Reading

There are few things better than a book so good it hurts when it’s over. The “Harry Potter” series does just that. She would love to step into Hermione Granger’s shoes for a day, casting spells and being a real-life wizard.

JOKE

“That’s What She Said”

If you’re like Stephanie and Michael Scott from “The Office,” then it just doesn’t get better than“that’s what she said” jokes.

SEASON

Summer

Spending all day soaking up the sun, book in hand, makes summer Stephanie’s favorite time of the year. Plus, being nice and tan is always the best for swimsuit season.

DESTINATION

Colorado

While it was definitely a toss up between Colorado and Washington, Stephanie loves the plentiful mountain ranges and beautiful hiking trails both states have to offer, including The Herman Gulch Trail in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest.

MORE ABOUT STEPHANIE

As an avid lover of plants and animals (and sometimes called a crazy cat lady), Stephanie hopes to one day own a large plot of land to house cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes and build a greenhouse to carry on her mother’s tradition of gardening.

She is working on her goal to hike at least one national park in every state that has one and even has a National Park “Passport” to track her success.

On top of her fondness for hiking, Stephanie has an affinity for powerlifting, maintaining a 155-lb squat and 135-lb deadlift. Embracing the term “tiny, but mighty,” Stephanie’s goal is to eventually reach a 200-lb squat.

HIDDEN TALENT

Spelling

Winning first place in four spelling bees when she was younger, her favorite word to spell is “xebec!” (Fun fact: Xebec was a Mediterranean sailing ship used for trade.)
