SOME TIDBITS ABOUT CARLY

In the summer of 2017 just before her senior year of college, Carly’s successful career began with one of FDG’s sought-after internship opportunities. Throughout her internship, FDG noted Carly’s keen eye for design and her ability to bring a modern aesthetic and color into the numerous projects she worked on.

After graduating from Oklahoma State University in 2018, FDG was quick to scoop Carly up and bring her on board as part of the amazing design team.

With Carly’s knack for organization, memorization, and leadership skills, this queen has been dubbed “The Marshal.”

HOMETOWN

Dallas, TX

As a Dallas native, Carly grew up surrounded by incredible architecture and design that was reflective of the city’s diverse cultures, inspiring not only her creativity, but her desire to connect with individuals on a personal level.

BEHIND HER DESIGNS

Coming from a family embedded in the world of architecture, Carly found her inspiration and passion for design at an early age. Through her father, who worked in the world of multifamily architecture, Carly was introduced to FDG’s CEO, Adrienne, and other members of the team. She instantly connected with the company’s ideals and beliefs and was excited to join a team whose soul focus is Designing Environments That Transform Life™.

For Carly, install week is the cherry on top of designing any community. Seeing a project come to life is the rewarding culmination of years of hard work and dedication that brings a sense of unparalleled fulfillment, pride, and joy to this FDG designer.

Coming Soon to Las Vegas

Las Vegas is in for a treat at the end of 2020 as FDG works with top development partners to create one incredible community, toting a funky and bold design that’s reflective of the city’s culture. Carly is excited for the install and all of the intricate, unique furniture, fixtures, and finishes that will bring this community to life. Organizing

“If I didn’t have interior design, I would try to find a job where all I do is organize things.” - Carly

Organizing items and cleaning out a space can be some of the best forms of stress relief, and Carly would agree. Her clothes are organized by color while her shoes are laid out per the season she will wear them.

Country

Though a Texas native, Carly wasn’t interested in country music until a friend introduced her to the stylings of Luke Bryan in 8th grade. Attending OSU only deepened her love for country music, and you can now find Carly working her cowboy boots and blasting Luke Combs.

TV SHOW

“The Bachelor/The Bachelorette”

Despite being a longtime “Grey’s Anatomy” fan, Carly can’t deny her love for this reality TV drama series. Though Carly likes the idea of buying cute clothes and venturing to fun places as they do on “The Bachelorette,” she’s more content with watching participants, like her favorite couple Sean and Catherine, from the comfort of her sofa.

MOVIE

“Bridesmaids”

The movie “Bridesmaids” is not an uncommon choice for “favorite movie,” considering the comedy, relatability, and heartfelt moments throughout. Carly identifies with unique and confident Megan (portrayed by the talented Melissa McCarthy), and would definitely take 10 party-favor puppies for herself!

DESTINATION

Florida Keys

While Carly grew up vacationing and visiting family in the Florida Keys, any beach is her dream destination.

Beaches bring the promise of kicking back and relaxing while getting a killer tan.

SEASON

Summer

The summer time goes hand-in-hand with trips to the beach and long, luxurious vacations to tropical islands.

Pool parties, margaritas on the patio, and bright summer clothing to complement the warm, sunny weather is Carly’s favorite.

MORE ABOUT CARLY

With blond hair and blue eyes, few would suspect Carly’s heritage to trace back to Cuba where her father and his entire family were born.

She attributes her love for warm, sunny weather to her Hispanic lineage and hopes to one day visit the diverse country to experience its rich culture.

While she can understand and speak a little bit of Spanish now, Carly wants to become fluent in the language not only for her ventures to Cuba, but also to connect and better communicate with the countless Spanish-speakers in the United States.

HIDDEN TALENT

Memorization

Carly’s photographic memory gave her a leg up while still in school. She created study cards that she would review before tests and would be able to visualize those cards in her mind to remember important information.

Basically, Carly has super powers.
